Tre giorni di festa a Milano - dal 15 al 17 settembre - tra cinema, musica, incontri e una programmazione in streaming gratuita in tutto il mondo.

The journey on the "culture of the short" comes to an end, and leaves us with a question: will the future be "short" like the present?

MAX3MIN, the Very Short Film Festival to be held from 11 to 17 September, gives us a first answer.

The programme for the 3rd edition will be made up of 70 short films from all over the world.

The titles selected come from 37 different countries and are divided into two sections:
50 will be competing for the prizes in the International Competition
20 films have been selected for the NEXT GEN award, the prize for the best short films from film schools all over the world.

“Don’t you notice anything different?” and naturally what is different is the hair that is now definitely short, or trimmed, or de-volumized. Let’s do it as well in this column, it’s the summer and for this digression on “short”, we will be trimming, thinning out, pruning and cutting, literally. Why is short hair still a symbol of change today, and even -  and I apologise for the ugly word - empowerment?

Once, films used to last an hour and a half, now on average they seem to be 2 hours and 40 m,inutes long; once, pop hits could last up to 6 minutes, now if they are 3 minutes long it’s surprising. Films today have become very long feature films and songs have become shorts.

We are looking for young enthusiasts to join the MAX3MIN volunteer team for the third edition of the Festival.
